ARLINGTON, Va. – National Rural Electric Cooperative Association CEO Jim Matheson today issued the following statement on the Senate’s vote to confirm Kevin McIntyre and Richard Glick to sit on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). McIntyre will serve as FERC’s chairman.
“We commend the Senate for restoring the full complement of FERC commissioners,” said Matheson. “The commission can function at its best when it is operating with a full slate of commissioners. The combined experience of Kevin McIntyre and Richard Glick, including their experience in the energy sector, is reassuring given the critical issues facing FERC in the coming years. We look forward to working with the commission as we meet our member-consumers’ needs and provide opportunities to empower economic growth.”
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
