Our Organization

NRECA is the national service organization that represents America's electric cooperatives.

What We Do

  • Sponsors and administers employee benefit plans for participating cooperatives
  • Spearheads communications, advocacy and public relations initiatives
  • Carries out federal government relations activities
  • Conducts leadership and staff training
  • Coordinates national and regional conferences and seminars
  • Researches, educates and communicates with NRECA voting members regarding legal, tax, environmental, engineering and other issues
  • Performs economic and technical research
  • Champions the cooperative business model

NRECA is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative

NRECA and more than 750 consumer-owned electric cooperatives across 46 states belong to Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, a nationwide alliance of electric co-ops. Membership in your local Touchstone Energy cooperative is a powerful thing. It means you have an energy source you can trust to look out for your community’s best interests, not its own bottom line.
